Harry Nesbitt first joined Rotary on 13 March 2004 and was a member of the Rotary Club of Claremont-Cottesloe for 4 years. He held a number of committee roles with the club culminating in President elect for 2007-2008. The Rotary Club of Claremont-Cottesloe was closed at the end of the same year and Harry plus four other members (Michael Lee, Barrie Heald, Tony Parker and Rohan Nagappa) joined the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour. Membership at RCWE commenced on 29 July, 2008. During that year, Harry was on the fundraising committee helping to organize the Claremont Fair and other events. He remained on the fundraising committee for a number of years and accepted the Director for International position in 2016. He held that position while President Elect in 2019 and was President of the club in 2020-2021.  

Professionally, Harry was an agricultural research project manager in developing countries until his retirement in June 2016. He has a Muresk Diploma in Agriculture (MDA), Honours degree in Agricultural Science (BSc Agric)(Hons), Dr of Philosophy (PhD), Honorary Dr of Science (Hon DSc) and is a Member of the Order of Australia (AM). He was also awarded a Commander of the Royal Order of Sahametrei by the Cambodian President in 1999 and by the Cambodian Prime Minister in 2001.

Harry spent 3 years working and living in the Philippines, 2 years in Thailand, 13 years in Cambodia and short periods of time in Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia. He also held a professorial position with the University of Western Australia while working part time in Timor Leste over a 14 year period.  He is married with two children.
